Storm and Freeze Response
When the wind comes through at three in the morning, someone goes and looks.
What triggers a visit
- An Environment Canada wind, snowfall, or arctic outflow warning for this coast
- A BC Hydro outage affecting your property for more than a few hours
- A temperature sensor reporting the interior falling toward freezing
- Any sensor alert that suggests water where it should not be
How it works
The subscription buys priority and one attendance per event. We check the property, photograph anything that has changed, and call you if something needs a decision. Further attendances during the same event are billed at the hourly rate. Keys, alarm codes, lockbox and gate combinations, and everything we see or record at a property are held in strict confidence.
This works far better on a property with sensors fitted. After a windstorm takes out power across the Coast, sensors tell us which properties lost heat, so we drive to the three that need us that night rather than working through a list of forty.
Please note. We attend as soon as it is safe and possible to do so. During a major storm, roads close, trees come down and ferries stop. We cannot guarantee arrival within a set time and we will not put anyone on a road that is not safe to be on.
